On the '87....

The only things you need to worry about pulling are coolant hose coming
from the oil cooler (next to the oil filter) to the _lower_ plenum, and
the connectors for the injectors, ECT, ACT, and knock sensors which are
easily within sight if you have the upper plenum off.

Don't worry about anything cracking or bending, just put the top row of
lower plenum bolts back in and pull it!

I am not sure exactly what you are doing (why the head is coming off) but
a couple pieces of advice:

1) Spend the $2X.00 and get Ford's replacement metal/rubber valve cover
   gasket.
2) Spend the $30.00 and get Ford's replacement torque-to-yield head bolts.
